Ultim engine
Now on its forth iteration the EdzUp's framework now called Ultim this has always been a tool in the EdzUp toolbox, it has gone through loads of different versions over the years and has come a long way from its MS-DOS roots. In its current form we at EdzUp can make all manner of different games and utilities simply and quickly by calling the framework in full or in part dependent on the program being developed. This page has been created to show you the progress of the current version of the framework.

Ultim Test 1


During the time since we started the Ultim framework we have learned loads of new techniques and shortcuts that will make the entire project stand out better on its own. Ultim itself is a culmination of over thirty years of coding and development from its early days using MS-DOS and CGA graphics right upto its current iteration which uses Desktop and OpenGL. We also have planned loads of other targets for the system to be ported to and we do have code for an older OpenGL ES engine we created called Tombstone this ran on iOS 2 and worked at a healthy 60fps on hardware.

22-Sep-2023: We are looking at many different platforms and ways of getting Ultim to the stage we would like it to be at we have loads of different ways of doing things and C++ does seem to be the best way forwards for us as developers, not only does it have the most portability but allows us to have a decent code base that will also allow us to move forwards with all our projects without continuously recoding everything the games and utilities we will be developing from here on in.
